Guntur Kaaram ready for OTT release: The buzz which was created long before the release of Superstar Mahesh Babu's 'Guntur Kaaram' is now slowly fizzling out as Teja Sajja’s Hanu Man movie is giving it a tough competition at the box office.

Mahesh Babu and Sreeleela-starrer movie was released on Sankranti to encash the festive mood of the audience. However, the movie garnered mixed reviews right from the benefit show on January 12.  And, the perception among the film goers didn’t change even after a week of it’s  release in theatres.

The movie goers have given a thumbs up to the performance of Mahesh Babu but said other cast members have disappointed them. The audience did not mince words in their criticism of film director Trivikram Srinivas' poor direction. However, the makers of the film have defended the director and maintained that the film is doing well because the audience have liked it. They said that Mahesh Babu’s film’s earnings have crossed Rs 212 crore at the worldwide box office.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that 'Guntur Kaaram' is set for release on Netflix in the second week of February, mostly 9th or 10th day. The online streaming giant has acquired the digital rights of the movie. As per the agreement with the makers of the film, 'Guntur Kaaram’ will be released on OTT within 28 days of its theatrical release.

Prabhas-starrer ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’ was released in the theatres on December 22 and the magnum opus made its way on OTT on January 20. Hanu Man movie, which also had a Sankranti release, stole the thunder at the box office. Other festival releases 'Guntur Karam' and 'Naa Sami Ranga' managed to impress the audience while Venkatesh-starrer 'Saindhav' failed miserably at the box office.
