Vijayawada: The poll schedule has been announced and it’s time for the political parties to get into the mode of election campaigning. However, the opposition alliance is still busy firefighting the internal rebellion over the allocation of seats.

With BJP joining the TDP-led pre-poll alliance, Jana Sena had to sacrifice Vijayawada West assembly seat to the saffron party. Jana Sena’s Vijayawada West city chief Pothina Venkata Mahesh is a strong contender for the seat. He along with his supporters tried to put pressure on Pawan Kalyan when he was denied the assembly ticket. Mahesh's followers held protests for five days demanding the seat allocation to their leader. Jana Sena leader tried to pacify Mahesh but he is not in a mood to accept the party’s explanation.

BC leader Mahesh comes from a Nagaralu community and has significant influence in the constituency. He said he’s built the party from the grassroots level and Pawan Kalyan has failed to fulfill the promise.

Upset with the leadership. Mahesh has given an ultimatum to Pawan Kalyan. He has hinted at joining the election fray as an independent candidate. However, Mahesh still believes that Pawan Kalyan would do justice to him and declare him as a party candidate from Vijayawada West assembly constituency for the May 13 elections in the state.
