Protests, Huge Backlash in TDP in Pithapuram Against Pawan's Contest

Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan has recently announced that he will contest the upcoming Andhra Pradesh assembly elections from Pithapuram. This decision has sparked dissatisfaction within the TDP, with some members expressing anger and disappointment over the announcement.

TDP member,Bhaggumadi along with other prominent members disagreed with the decision and expressed dissatisfaction with the party's leadership. The situation escalated when the TDP party flags and flexies were burt by NVSN Verma's followers, who felt the party had cheated Verma. Verma's followers took up an agitation to contest as an independent, further fuelling the unrest within the TDP ranks.

The TDP workers are preparing to resign in huge numbers expressing their anger over Verma not being given a seat. The situation has become so volatile that there are reports of a tussle for power  between the TDP and Jana Sena in at least 10-15 seats including Pithapuram, Rajahmundry Rural, Gajuwaka, Tanuku, Tadepalligudem and Tenali.

Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan had previously contested from Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka in the 2019 assembly election and lost both seats. He is considering to contest now as a MP. The Jana Sena Party had entered alliance with the TDP and the BJP for both the state and Lok Sabha elections and has allocated 21 assembly seats for the party to contest.

The TDP has had an unpredictable relationship with BJP and the party's decision to ally with the Jana Sena has left its relationship hanging in the balance. The TDP and JSP are still working out on their seat sharing arrangement. Pawan Kalyan wants more than 40 seats but TDP refuses to give so many seats to JSP.
