AP Govt Proposal To Centre For 20 New National Highways

AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh State government has sent proposals to the Union Ministry of Transport and Highways for the development of another 20 new state highways in the state as national highways.

As part of the efforts made by the State government, the Centre has recently declared seven major highways in the state as national highways which are around a total of 485.65 km.

The state government has sent proposals to the Center in two tranches to identify another 20 state highways as national highways.

As part of these efforts the ruling YSR Congress Party MPs held discussions with the senior officials of the Union Ministry of Transport and National Highways in Delhi. Of those proposed, the Central Government in principle has approved the recognition of 11 roads measuring a total of 688 Kms, as National Highways. Official orders approving this will soon be issued by the Central government.

  2. Malkanagiri - Sabbavaram - 251 Kms
  3. Bhimavaram – Tadepalli - 35.80 Kms
  4. Patchuru-Kolar (Karnataka) - 30.96 Kms
  5. NH 67 Near Anjaneyaswamy Temple Junction Till Karnataka Border- 3 Kms
  6. From Chelur near Raichur- Tanakal - 12.77 Kms
  7. Palasa- Padmapur (Odisha) - 23 Kms
  8. Penugonda-Pavagada - 26.92 Kms
  9. Thumukuru-Veparalla - 39-81 Kms
  10. Narsapuram-Razole - 23 Kms
  11. Gutthi-Kowthalam- 135 Kms

The Center stated that it would soon take an official decision regarding declaring the remaining nine more highways (889.06 Kms ) as national highways.
