New Delhi: A high alert has been announced in the National Capital after intelligence inputs suggested that terrorists belonging to the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) outfit had infiltrated the city.

Delhi police are on high alert to track any suspicious movements in the city. Security has been beefed up in the city and suspected areas and sensitive zones have been marked.

According to reports, Special cell of Delhi police conducting raids and extensive checks at multiple places across the Delhi, after they got information from the surveillance sources, which confirmed that, three of the Jaish-e-Mohammed's based terrorists have entered Delhi.

Police are carrying out searches in nine areas of Delhi along with Railway stations, metro stations, and marketplaces.

Police officers have earlier been getting information about the possibility of major attacks in Delhi in retaliation against the Central government's decision over the dissolution of Article 370 and the partition of the State into the Union Territory, which gives Jammu and Kashmir a special status.

The police officers also started collecting data about the new visitors in Delhi, inspecting hotels and checking in about the information of any new people who have checked in recently.

Intelligence sources suspect that the terrorists have entered the state with some explosives, to carry out terrorist activities in the state during the eve of Dasara.
