AP Reels Under Heatwave As Tirupati, Kavali Record Highest Temperatures In March

North and East-northeastern parts of India are still reeling under the impact of the uninterrupted weather systems affecting the northern hills and plains. However, several regions of South India have already begun experiencing hot day conditions with maximum temperatures.

In the past week, heat wave conditions with maximum temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees have been observed in parts of South India primarily in Rayalaseema and Interior Tamil Nadu.

Recording its maximum temperature at 40.4 degree Celsius on Wednesday, Tirupati is followed by Tiruttani 40.1 degree Celsius. Other regions recording high temperatures include Nandyal at 39.4 degree Celsius, Salem at 39.3 degree Celsius, Kavali - 39.2 degree Celsius, Madurai - 39.2 degree Celsius, Anantapur 39.2 degree Celsius, Vellore 39.2 degree Celsius, Gulbarga 39.1 degree Celsius and Nellore 39.1 degree Celsius.

A trough is currently expanding from interior parts of Tamil Nadu to Comorin region but weather activities might not have an impact in regard to this system. The possibility of isolated patchy rain over a few places exists for short duration.

Isolated weather activities such as rain or thunderclouds are likely to occur over the interior parts of Tamil Nadu and parts of Kerala between March 8-10. Due to the significance of these rains being low, the rising movement of temperatures will continue with heatwave conditions to spread across other parts of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
