Uttama Prajaakeeya Party chief Upendra made sensational comments on the Karnataka budget after chief minister HD Kumaraswamy imposed tax on electricity, petrol etc. The actor cum politician took to social media to state that the new budget was a burden on the common man.

The actor also clarified that he was not criticising the budget. Only people with low IQ level were commenting on this and the others have chosen to remain mum on the budget, he said. Though everyone has a negative opinion on the budget, they do not want to expose themselves by speaking against it, Upendra said. Meanwhile, the actor shared a post on the microblogging site Twitter welcoming people into his party. He invited people intending to bring change in the society to join his party.

On the other hand, the actor who had bid adieu to films before taking the political plunge has now made a comeback in movies. It may be recalled that the actor had earlier talked about busy movie schedules saying "To run a political party, one needs money and to make money it is necessary to act in movies." However, other party leaders ignored his words saying Upendra did not have any knowledge in politics.
