Purnia: A Lok Sabha candidate was arrested by the police before he filed his nomination papers in Bihar for being drunk at that time. Apparently, the independent candidate Rajeev Kumar Singh contesting from Purnia Lok Sabha came to file his nomination papers in an inebriated state. Officials at the collectorate grew suspicious with his behaviour. Later, he tested positive on the breath analyser. Police confirmed that he was fully drunk.

The irony is that in Bihar there is a complete Prohibition in force and therefore, he was booked under the Alcohol Ban Act and was presented before the court. Bihar is all set to go for elections on April 18th, and of the 17 nominations filed in the constituency 11 were filed on the last day of nominations.
