Nandi Awards Announced: Eega Dominates 2012, SVSC In 2013 

The Andhra Pradesh Government has announced Nandi awards for 2012 and 2013. This is put paid to the debate over who will give the Nandi awards. With the Telangana Government announcing that it would institute new awards for the film and theatre performances, the Andhra Government has announced the awards.

Rajamouli's Eega, Nani's Eto Vellipoyindi Manasu and Tanikella Bharani's Mithunam most of the awards in 2012. Eega nine awards, while Eto Vellipoyindi Manasu won four awards. The awards were announced by the committee headed by senior actress Jayasudha.

Best lady singer - Geeta Madhuri

Best dialogue writer - Tanikella Bharani (Mithunam)
