Nagarjuna

Akkineni Nagarjuna and ace director Ram Gopal Varma's yet to be titled flick was launched in the month of November. The film unit completed the first schedule of the film by the end of December as Nagarjuna took time off to promote his son Akhil's Hello in big time. He had put the RGV film on hold for a while.

The duo has collaborated after their previous outing Shiva was a blockbuster hit in the 90s. The film continues to garner huge TRPs whenever it's shown on the small screen.

This film has been tentatively referred to as #NagRGV4 and naturally, audiences have pinned big hopes on this film as Shiva was a cult classic. Earlier, the makers of the movie had planned to announce the release date and title of the film on one of these days. But, Now, we are not sure of the same as RGV is in deep shock over the sudden death of his favourite actress Sridevi.

That is not it. If a latest report doing the rounds is anything to go by, then there are no takers for the RGV-Nagarjuna flick. It's worth mentioning here that distributors are coming forward to purchase the rights of small hero films even before the film goes on floors. A case in point is that of Varun Tej's upcoming flick which is yet to go to the sets. Varun Tej's last film Tholi Prema has become a blockbuster hit. The Fidaa actor has signed another flick with Sankalp Reddy of Ghazi fame, which is expected to go on floors, shortly. It is worth mentioning, here that Nirvana Cinemas have already bagged the overseas rights of Varun Tej's yet to be titled flick.

Now, given that this project is magnanimous and has a huge director-actor combo, people are in a bit of shock as to why there are no takers for the overseas rights or Hindi dubbing rights of #NagRGV4.

Now, the latest we hear is that Nagarjuna might release the film on his own in the worst case scenario. Earlier, the same thing happened to Nagarjuna for Raju Gari Gandhi 2 and Soggade Chinni Nayana. But mind you, both the films were blockbuster hits.

The reason for this hesitancy could be RGV's recent track record. But one can't help but add that he's a genius filmmaker who has delivered some smashing hits in Telugu as well as Hindi.

Who will buy the overseas rights of the RGV-Nagarjuna flick? How much will it be sold for? Any guesses? Let us know in the comments section below.
