Mystery Shrouds Lakshmi Prasanna Murder

Hyderabad: Police sent a strand of hair to the Forensic lab, which was found in the hand of Sai Lakshmi Prasanna, the 7-year-old girl who died on Wednesday after her throat was slashed using a shaving blade.

The girl's parents said that they never had any enmity but upon enquiring police found that occasionally they had quarrels with their relatives who stayed in the same area close by. Police are trying to solve the case from this angle.

Prasanna was found lying in pool of blood with injuries in bathroom by her aunt Venkata Lakshmi who immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital, but the girl died while undergoing treatment

Meanwhile, they are also gathering information from the people who were at the spot.

Petbasheerabad ACP Ashok Kumar said that the girl was not sexually assaulted and it appears to be that a known person has committed murder.

A case under section 302 (murder) of IPC was registered.
