Moral Policing: Man Stripped Naked, Beaten With Sticks And Rods

Kochi: In a beastly act of moral policing, a 47-year-old man in Kerala was stripped off and beaten by sticks and iron rods by a group of unknown miscreants. The visuals were recorded and were posted on WhatsApp by the group.

The victim, Salam Sulaiman, was tied to an electric post and was waylaid by the group over his suspicious movements near the house. The victim was beaten for over two hours and was only freed after the police intervened.

Salam has been admitted at Kodungallur Government Taluk Hospital with several bruises who also lost his three teeth as well.

The incident took place in Azhikode at Kodunagallur of Thrissur district on Saturday night and the victim's deposition was recorded on Sunday.

Kodungallur Sub Inspector Rajagopal said, "Salam identified four members of the group who belonged from same area. They are: Babu, Siyad, Mikhil, Saikumar and Chikku. We are tracing the people and will ascertain their motives behind the act."
