MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi in judicial custody

Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (MIM) party MP, Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday surrendered before the Sangareddy court in Medak district in connection with a case that was registered against him in 2005 for allegedly preventing officials from widening a road near a mosque in Medak district.

The court had earlier issued  a non-bailable warrant against him for not attending the court proceedings.

The court has adjourned the bail petition hearing to January 22 and also remanded Owaisi to 14-day judicial custody. According to sources, the police are preparing to lodge Owaisi in Sangareddy jail.
