Major Drug Racket Busted, Police Find Links With Tollywood Bigwigs
Hyderabad: The task force police on Sunday busted a major drug racket here on Sunday and arrested three persons.
The accused were employees of a multi-national company in the city and peddled drugs to Tollywood bigwigs. Total of 700 units of LSD also known as acid and 35 grams of MDMA were recovered by the police.
Speaking to media persons, Telangana Prohibition and Excise Department Director Akun Sabharwal said that the police were securing call data of the accused who had been allegedly supplying drugs to prominent people in Tollywood. One drop of the LSD drug would have psychological effect for 10 to 12 hours on a person who consumes it, he said. The drug peddlers charge their customers anywhere between Rs 1,800 to Rs 3,000 per each unit of the drug in the market.
Person who takes the MDMA drug, which is also called as Molly in the market, would have an effect for three to four hours. People often go into depression and rarely slip into happy mood, Sabharwal warned.
