Insulted By TDP Leadership, Actress Kavitha Joins BJP

Vijayawada: Senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and former actress Kavitha quit the yellow party alleging humiliation by the party leadership.

She joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Sunday, in the presence of AP BJP president K Haribabu. An active member of the TDP till recently, she joined the Telugu Desam in 1983. Speaking to the media after joining the BJP, she said she did not leave the TDP but was forced to quit. "I did not believe when people said chief minister Chandrababu Naidu misleads and deceives people but denying the party workers their due is injustice," Kavitha said.
