Bengaluru: Infosys said one of its three presidents, Rajesh Murthy, had resigned - the first executive exit since Salil Parekh took over as chief executive officer.

Analysts had hoped that Parekh's entry into the company would not be followed by management exits. Infosys needed management stability to weather the changes in the company and the industry, they had said. Murthy, who has been with Infosys for over 25 years, is leaving for 'personal reasons' the company said. His last day at Infosys will be at the end of the January.

"The board places on record its deep appreciation for his commitment to Infosys over the last 26 years and wishes him the very best for his future endeavours," the company said in statement. Murthy's exit follows that of Sandeep Dadlani, who was one of the then four Infosys presidents, last June. Murthy was promoted to president in 2016, at a time when the company was facing a slew of executive exits. Murthy was responsible for Energy, Utilities, Telecommunications and Services. He also led Infosys' consulting and Europe business.
