IAS Officer’s Son Confesses To Murder Of Driver

Hyderabad: Sukreeth, the elder son of an IAS officer G Venkateshwar, was arrested on Monday for allegedly killing his driver B Nagaraju on Friday night.

According to the police, Sukreeth is the eldest son of an G Venkateshwar, working as joint director of Agriculture in city. Nagaraju worked as driver with the officer's estranged wife Anita. Nagaraju (28) and Sukreeth (19) belong to same community. They became close to each other and used to party at Sai Kalyan Residency, Yousufguda. Nagaraju's friend works as a watchman in Sai Kalyan Residency and the three used to party on the terrace frequently.

On Friday night, Nagaraju and Sukreet went to the penthouse, a dispute rose between the two and in a druken state Sukreet killed Nagaraju by smashing his head with a bottle. After killing, Sukreet left his home and returned to Sai Kalyan Residency around 2 am to make sure if Nagaraju had died. He then called his father on phone and informed about the murder, and he wanted to move the body from that place in his father's car, then he brought a gunny bag and stuffed the body in it. When he was coming down from the apartment, the apartment owner informed the matter to the police.

Police found that Nagaraju's cellphone is missing and when they asked Sukreeth about the phone, he said that he had thrown the phone near a metro pillar.

The police after examining the footage from the CCTV, detained Sukreet and questioned him about the death of Nagaraju. He confessed that he had killed Nagaraju in a drunken condition and tried to move the body.

Jubilee Hills police, who registered a case against Sukreet and took him into custody.
