I too am a settler: KTR

Hyderabad:  ‘Settler Politics’ is increasingly being seen as one of the most distinctive features of the GHMC elections this year. Political parties are trying to play one-up against each other in trying to woo the large number of ‘settlers’ in the GHMC area.

While the TRS party has declared its intension to put up candidates from the settlers segment, the TDP has gone one step ahead and declared that it is ready to install a settler as a deputy mayor.

The Telangana IT and Panchayatiraj minister is the latest politician to get onto the ‘settler’ bandwagon. Revealing that his own family had relocated to Hyderabad from Siddipet, the minister stated that he too is a settler in Hyderabad and wondered if there was anyone in Hyderabad who is not a settler.

With the settlers becoming the focus of the GHMC electoral campaigns, it is the voter at large who seems to be in demand and commanding due attention in these elections.
