I never resort to religious propaganda: Vijayamma

YSR Congress party honorary president Y S Vijayamma today flatly denied any reports that she was resorting to religious propaganda. Clarifying that holding the Holy Book, the Bible,

would give her the required courage to come before the public and deliver the speeches, Vijayamma said that she would never stoop so low to use any platform to propagate a particular religion.
“It is only my faith and as per the Constitution it the right of an individual to practice any religion that one believes. If I hold the Bible in my hands I get courage to come before the public. But, I never resorted to propagating any particular religion. My parents’ family was very orthodox. When YSR was alive I never made my appearance before any outsiders. After his demise and after my son, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, was sent to jail because of the collusion of the Congress and the Telugu Desam I am forced to come out of the four walls,” she told mediapersons at Pulivendula, her home town in YSR district. 
Vijayamma expressed concern at media projecting her as a religious propagator. “Even when I attend the Assembly sessions I carry the Holy Book,” she stated. Through this press conference “I want to make it clear to both the media and the public that I need not stoop so low.” She appealed to parties not to resort to politicize religion to gain mileage.
