I'm only reminded of my duties: Kodela

Hyderabad: Coming back to his seat after the ‘No confidence motion’ against him was defeated, the AP Legislative Assembly Speaker, Kodela Sivaprasad Rao, on Monday said that the motion taken up against him had only served to remind him of his duties as a Speaker. He stated that as far as possible, he would try not to behave in a partisan manner.

The Speaker said that though it pained him to see the No Confidence motion taken up against him, he still remembers how the opposition leader of the House, Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy had given him his support to be elected the Speaker of the House unanimously and said that he is grateful to him for that.

Speaking in this context, the Speaker reminisced about his life’s journey and indicated that his life had its share of ups and downs and that coming from a family of spare means; he had to work his way up. As a medical doctor he was able to serve the poor he said. It was through NTR’s instigation that he entered politics and has shouldered many responsibilities since then, he revealed.
