High Court sends notice to Sridhar Babu, Karimnagar police

Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday issued notices to Legislative Affairs Minister D. Sridhar Babu for his alleged involvement in the illegal detention and torture of LLB student of Osmania University and leader of Telangana general students JAC Gaddam Sriram. 

Swarupa, a student of English and Foreign Languages University (Eflu), had filed a writ petition in the High Court stating that her husband was implicated in a false case by the Karimnagar police at the behest of Sridhar Babu as he was critical of the minister's activities.
As directed by the court, NIMS doctors submitted a report on the Sriram's health. It is learnt that police used third degree on Sriram. The court also issued notices to Karminagar CI, SI and SP to give explanation on this.
Later, the court adjourned the matter for six weeks.
