Guntur: Prisoner who escaped 25 yrs ago caught

A prisoner who escaped exactly 25 years back was apprehended by police today. This incident was reported from Guntur district.

According to reports, Gokaraju Narsaraju, a resident of Guntur was on parole fled prison in 1989. The police hunt was on ever since to nab the culprit. He was arrested in a murder case and was sentenced to life imprisonment. He spent five years at Cherlapalli jail but fled when he was let out for prison work.

According to locals, he had escaped to other states after he fled prison, but returned to village only ten days back. On a tip off, the police took him into custody at Gokarajupalem of PV Palem.  It is learnt that the prisoner is 60 years old.
