Govt. has abandoned farmers: Y.S Jagan

Bathulapalli: “Chandrababu's rule is all deception, deception and deception” said the YSRCP chief and Andhra Pradesh opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, and added that the poll promises that Chandrababu made before the elections, have now been cast away after having formed the government.

Y.S Jagan was addressing the gathering at the 'Rythu Bharosa Yatra' on Friday evening at Bathulapalli in Anantapur district.

“Before the elections, Chandrababu had promised loan wavers to the farmers. But having formed the government, Chandrababu has neither waved off the loans nor even the interest on those loans”, he said. He said an interest amount of 14% was being collected from the farmers on their loans and added that the government has abandoned the ryots by not even giving them input subsidy.

Y.S. Jagan blasted the government for not caring enough for the plight of the farmers and accused them of not doing anything about the drought hit mandals. He anguished over the fact that the CM had not reacted even after a 100 farmers lost their lives in Anantapur district alone.

He accused the government of not providing ex-gratia to the families of those farmers who have resorted to suicide. He stated that the YSR party had strongly criticised the government in the Assembly on this issue and called on the people to come together and fight in unison against the injustice meted out to them by the government.
