Father commits suicide, family members follow suit in distress

Nalgonda: Five members of a family committed suicide at Ghatkesar here on Friday, owing to financial problems and ill-health.

Financial problems compounded by ill-health forced the family members to resort to the extreme step.

A native of Warangal district, Satyanarayana (58) was working as deputy engineer at Adilabad Housing Board. On Friday night, he committed suicide by consuming poison. In distress due to his death, Satyanarayana’s wife Meera (51), daughters Swati (33), Neelima (28) and son Sivaramakrishna (22) too resorted to the extreme step by jumping in front of a moving train. Police recovered the bodies from the railway tracks and sent them for postmortem.
