Factory Worker Dies As Iron Rod Pierces Chest
In a freak accident, a worker in a plastic bottle making unit in Kurnool, died after an iron rod attached to a machine pierced into his chest. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening on the outskirts of Kurnool city.
According to the police, Boyamandla Yellappa (22), an employee in the Jitesh Plastic Bottle Making Company, was working along with few other to repair a cork-making machine. While they were trying to move the machine, it suddenly veered to one side and Yellappa was sandwiched between a wall and the machine. An iron rod attached to the machine pierced into his chest causing huge blood loss. Yellappa died before he could be extricated by removing the machine.
The police were informed and they shifted the body for post-mortem. They registered a case and are investigating.
