Megastar Chiranjeevi made a comeback into films after a brief political stint with the movie Khaidi No 150. The film which featured Chiru in double role and Kajal Aggarwal as female lead was directed by VV Vinayak. The film was a blockbuster hit with box office collections said to be Rs 164 crores while the budget spent on making the movie was Rs 65 crores.

Now, Chiru has bid goodbye to politics for good and busy with the shoot of another film. The film titled Sye Raa Narasimhareddy is a period flick based on the life of Rayalaseema freedom fighter uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Sye Raa has an impressive star cast including Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, Kollywood hero Vijay Sethupathi, Sandalwood king Sudeep, Senior Telugu actor Jagapati Babu while Tamanaah and Nayanthara play female leads. Chiranjeevi's niece Niharika Konidela too is expected to be playing a key role in the movie. Her debut film Happy Wedding was a box office debacle. Now back to our story. Sye Raa is being directed by Surender Reddy who has made some wondering movies in the past. It remains to be seen how he handles a period movie. Sye Raa is being made in four languages—Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.

Now, with such an impressive star cast, anybody would expect the film to be a hit. imagine, a biopic like movie with a huge star cast and of course larger than life sets. What would you expect? Now, if I asked you this question two years ago, you would perhaps say a blockbuster hit. However, the date of if similar movies in the recent history across the industry is any indication, then you would probably think twice before answering the question.

NTR biopics 1 & 2 which opened amid huge hype landed with a thud at the box office. Another classic example was Thugs of Hindostan with a cast like Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, nobody would have expected the movie to fail so miserably. But alas! the movie bombed and how!

Megafans are hoping and praying that this doesn't happen to their idol's movie as they have pinned all their hopes on this. Also, there's more at stake—reputation of star actors and of course the money pumped in by Ram charan who's spending money without any doubts over the film's fortunes at the box office. Let's hope Sye Raa becomes a huge money spinner like Baahubali.
