District Collector hands over nano car to villager

Parusa Lachchamma, a villager, won nano car in the bumper draw organized by the district administration to encourage the voters to exercise their franchise.

In the draw, Lachchamma belonging to Madhira village of Chinnakoduru mandal in Medak district won the nano car. District Collector Smita Sabarwal handed over the car to the villager. The officials announced the low cost car to one villager in those villages which registered a poll percentage of 95 or more. In the draw, the lady won the car.

Speaking on the occasion, the collector said, “The poll percentage in villages is more than that in towns in the district in the recent elections. Every one has the responsibility of strengthening the democracy in India.”

Collector gave different prizes to the voters belonging to 106 villages in the district. She handed over the mementos to the representatives of some industries which declared paid holiday on the day of recent general elections. She gave prize money to Sarpanches of about 25 villages which registered a poll percentage of above 95 in the recent elections.

She gave the prize money to some returning officers who helped to register high poll percentage. Ultimately, the efforts of the district officials to increase the poll percentage in the district gave returns.
