Andhra Jyothy on Wednesday published a news story claiming that YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had reprimanded Dalit and Girijan MLAs of the party for posing for photographers with Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu.

Vijayawada: Dalit and Girijan MLAs of the YSRCP on Wednesday said that they would file a suit against Telugu daily Andhra Jyothy for publishing baseless news stories aimed at vilifying YSRCP and its chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Andhra Jyothy on Wednesday published a news story claiming that YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had reprimanded Dalit and Girijan MLAs of the party for posing for photographers with Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu.

The newspaper also claimed that the social media was abuzz about YS Jagan asking the Dalit and Girijan MLAs to apologise by touching his feet.

It may be recalled that YS Jagan met NDA Presidential nominee Ram Nath Kovind along with his legislators at Park Hyatt on Tuesday.

During the meeting, YS Jagan introduced his party MLAs and extended support to Kovind. During this time, YS Jagan touched Kovind's feet as a mark of respect to the senior BJP man. By the time, YSRCP legislators wanted to have a group photograph with Kovind. Since Kovind was leaving, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu offered to join the group photo.

However, Andhra Jyothi twisted the news and said that the Dalit and tribal MLAs were reprimanded by YS Jagan for posting for a photograph with Venkaiah. The MLAs said this was patently false and said that it was YS Jagan who asked them to join the group photo. They demanded an apology from the Andhra Jyothy and said if no apology was forthcoming, they would file a case agianst the management.

Expressing anger over the false and motivated report, YSRCP MLA Izhaiah said that Andhra Jyothy is resorting to mud-slinging against YS Jagan. He sought to know as to why the Yellow Media had maintained silence when AP CM Chandrababu Naidu asked people not to walk on the roads he laid if they did not vote for him.
