Amaravati: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy was arrested on Thursday for questioning CRDA officials.
It may be recalled that the Mangalagiri MLA urged the CRDA officials to note down the minutes of the meeting that was called in Penumaka village to gather public opinion on additional land pooling. Besides rejecting the request, the officials also filed a case against the MLA. Besides Ramakrishna Reddy, cases were filed against 14 others for the Penumaka incident while 10 arrests were made so far. Later, the legislator was released on 'station bail'.
Soon after the release, Ramakrishna spoke to the media and said that false cases were foisted against him on instructions from chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. "The chief minister is going ahead with land acquisition and capital city construction with utter disregard for the Land Pooling Act and the orders of the High Court," he said.
