Chandigarh: A delivery boy of food delivery app Zomato allegedly sexually abused a minor while on duty in Chandigarh.

Media reports suggest that the accused had gone to deliver at a posh locality in Chandigarh on Friday. The 12-year-old girl was playing at her courtyard. Her grandmother was with her.

Meanwhile, the boy asked for shelter at her home as it was raining outside. When he came in, he started forcing him at the girl.

The minor girl resisted and screamed, and the boy immediately fled from the house.

In another incident, a food delivery boy was arrested on charges of molesting a 22-year-old woman in HSR Layout in Bengaluru in July.

Police said the woman was walking on one of the pavements in HSR Layout Sector IV when 26-year-old N Kiran Kumar touched her inappropriately. Police then scanned CCTV footage and identified Kiran from his bike number.

“Around 1.30pm, the delivery boy, who was riding a motorbike, came from the opposite direction and molested me. Before I could react or shout for help, he sped away. I noticed that he wore a T-shirt of a food delivery portal and even had a delivery bag on his tank,” the woman had said in her complaint.
