Theatre Parking Fee Collector Kills Moviebuff After Scuffle

Bengaluru: A man lost his life over a parking fee at a Cinema hall in the city on Thursday. The man, identified as Bharanidaran (38), a resident of Austin Town, was beaten to death over a Rs 10 parking fee issue at a cinema hall parking space.

As per the details, the accused, Selvaraj (50) worked as an employee at the Lavanya theatre, St Johns road in Bharathinagar, East Bengaluru. He collected the parking fee for the parking space in the theatre.

The police informed that Bharanidaran had visited the theatre around 4:30 pm along with his cousin to watch a Tamil movie, Kanchana 3 on Thursday.

As per the parking norms in the theatre, Selvaraj asked Bharanidaran to pay Rs 10 parking fee for his two-wheeler. However, Bharanidaran refused to pay the fee and began getting aggressive towards the employee, following which a row ensued between the two.

While Bharanidharan tried to assault Selvaraj, the latter, then called up another theatre staff Shekhar (20). The duo took Bharanidharan inside the theatre and assaulted him. After getting beaten up, Bharanidharan fell unconscious and collapsed. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The police, who received the information rushed to the spot and arrested both Selvaraj and Shekhar for the murder.

A case has been registered and police are investigating further.
