Hyderabad: Two people, allegedly involved in the trade of liquid ganja, have been arrested here, police said Saturday. About 1,934 gm of liquid ganja worth Rs 7 to 8 lakh, an electronic weighing machine, a car and two cellphones were seized from the two, the police said.

Based on information that liquid ganja was being sold from an apartment in Ameenpur village in neighbouring Sangareddy district, the vigilance and enforcement officials and the local police raided the flat.

Two men identified as Govind, a graduate, and Murali, a techie working in Bengaluru in the apartment told the police that a person from Visakhapatnam illegally brought the liquid ganja (made from processed cannabis) in small tins and in honey bottles to be sold to known customers.

After investigation, officials said the supplier was identified as Kamlesh from Visakhapatnam was the person who supplied the processed cannabis to the duo.

The two were paid for filling the honey bottles, which was also done in the flat, and one of the men sold the liquid in Bengaluru where he works for a private firm, the release said.The bottles were sold at Rs 3,000 per bottle and the main customers were studnets and techies. The oil is so potent that one to two drops of it on a cigarettes is enough to give the user a high.

The two were taken into custody while efforts were on to catch two others allegedly involved in the trade, the release added.
