Guntur: In the Jyothi murder case, the police involvement has already been uncovered following the suspicious burial of the body. Mangalagiri Rural CI Balaji has been suspended for negligence of duties in the investigation last week. Following this, the police officials recovered the body from the cremation site and sent it for post-mortem once again to the Guntur Government hospital.

In the latest developments to the case, a doctor’s misconduct in the post-mortem has been exposed. As per the details, Dr G Vijayabharathi from Mangalagiri Government hospital mislead the police officials by tweaking the post-mortem report accordingly. Police had previously revealed that Jyothi was hit with a rod on her head, however, the post-mortem revealed no injury scars.

District Collector Kona Shashidhar had reportedly expressed his deep indignation over Dr Vijayabharathi's conduct in the post-mortem report. The officials are yet to take decision on whether the doctor will face suspension or a criminal case will be filed against her.

According to the latest post-mortem report, Jyothi was murdered and was not sexually assaulted.

The police are learned to have collected evidence implicating Jyothi's boyfriend Srinivasa Rao who conspired to kill her. His friend, Pawan also confessed the details of the crime to the police. With Srinivasa Rao himself admitting the crime in front of the police, he will be arrested following his discharge from the hospital.
