Mancherial: A gang, under the name Tiger Hunting and Association who is also well known by the name The Chandrapur Gang, has played a double game with the forest officials and poachers. They stole money from the poachers and fled the location.

Their double game came into the light after a whole incident took place wherein a royal Bengal tiger was hunted for its fur by a poachers gang on 8 January in Shivvaram village in Mancherial district. The Chandrapur Gang came forward under the garb of Tiger Hunting and Association to buy the skin and claimed that if a puja is performed, by placing money on the fur of the dead tiger, the money will be doubled. Believing in their words the poacher gang got the money along with the skin of the tiger.

Nandu, who claimed himself as the head of Tiger Hunting and Association, contacted the poachers to get Rs 10,00,000 in cash along with the tiger skin. The hunters of the tiger arranged for Rs 6,00,000 through loans. Later both the gangs met at Mandamarri to perform the puja. While this was happening, they had also informed the police in the sidelines, pretending to be giving the police a heads-up about the tiger skin trade.

On 24 January Nandu dressed up as the Swamy to perform puja, placed the money on the tiger skin. Later they fled from the location with the money and informed the police that tiger skin is being sold at this location. The gang claimed in front of the media that they helped the police nab the culprits.

The Police were shocked after getting to know of the truth from the people arrested. There is a website called Tiger Hunting and Association. Police are inquiring about the matter through call data of the phone number present on the website.
