Hyderabad: A woman allegedly committed suicide by immolating herself on Tuesday under the Manchal police station limits in Rachakonda Commissionerate. After a fight with her husband, the woman reportedly set herself ablaze, the police said.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Boggu Lavanya (26) who got married to Ravinder about eight years ago. Ravinder is a Home Guard who works in the Telangana State Police Communications. They lives in Lingampalli village, Manchal mandal. The couple had two children.

B Anudeep, Manchal Inspector said that there were the couple were fighting for quite some time with regards to a land distribution related to their ancestral property. Ravinder got upset with his wife's arguments and on Monday night, he went home in an inebriated state where the couple again had a heated argument on that night.

On Tuesday morning, depressed over the argument with her husband, Lavanya set herself ablaze and died on the spot as there was no one in the house to save her. According to a complaint given by the woman's family members, the police filed a case of suspicious death and started probing the matter. The children were handed over to the grandparents, the police said.
