Kannur (Kerala): The Kerala police have arrested five persons for raping a 16-year-old minor girl. She was raped at Parassinikkadavu last month. The police also took eight others into custody along with the girl's father including DYFI leader Anthoor, Nikhil Thaliyil.

According to the police, the girl was raped by the first four of them at a lodge on November 13th and 19th where the lodge manager Pavithran allowed them to commit the heinous crime when the girl came to meet a boy who pretended to be her friend through Facebook at Parassinikkadavu. When she arrived, a gang reached there, kidnapped her and took her to the lodge where she was raped. According to the girl's complaint, she was raped by 20 people in various places in the district.

The incident came to light when she told her mother and uncle about the incident happened who later lodged a complaint with the women's police station. Due to the incident, the victim was unwilling to go for school and was not obeying her parents, they claimed.

After prolonged counselling by the police, the girl gave clues to the identity of the 20 people who sexually abused her. She also said that she met a woman called Anjana who later introduced her brother. But the police found no such woman named Anjana.

Later, the case was handed over to the Taliparamba police who arrested all the key accused with the help of Cyber Cell. They will be produced before the court on Thursday. The cops filed POCSO Act case against the accused.
