Toopran: A man killed his own daughter in Kareemguda, Toopran mandal. The incident took place on october 5 and the police solved the case on Tuesday. The police started probing the case on October 6 and confirmed that the cukprit was the girl's father.

Srikanth Reddy hails from Boreddipalli, Chittoor district. He was mentally disturbed for some time and would often fight with his wife.

Meanwhile, he took Lakshmi Prasanna (15) to Toophran on October 5. The same night, he took her to Kareemguda circle and banged the girl's head to a stone and killed her. Later, he fled the place.

The family members of Lakshmi Prasanna lodged a complaint at a police station since she was missing. When they questioned Srikanth Reddy about the girl, he gave answers that raised suspicions. Suspecting foul play, the relatives put Srikanth on house arrest and informed the police. Later, they traced the dead body of the girl and arrested Srikanth Reddy.

Recently, in a similar incident, a 54-year-old man suffering from depression was held for killing his minor son in the national capital.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Anto Alphonse said Om Prakash earlier worked as a vegetable vendor. "He was in debts and strained relations with his wife which caused depression."

The officer said Prakash, who hails from Jind and currently resides in Najafgarh, killed his only son Deepak by poisoning and strangulating him in his wife's absence.
