Hyderabad: Charu Lata Patel was the star of the India Vs Bangladesh match as she was spotted blowing a horn in the stands to cheer for Team India. As the cameraman panned his camera towards the special fan, the 87-year-old woman instantly became an internet sensation.

After India defeated Bangladesh by 28 runs to reach the semi-finals of the 2019 cricket World Cup, captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma went onto meet the 'passionate' fan.

Kohli tweeted an image with Patel and captioned it saying "age is just a number".

Kohli tweeted, "Also would like to thank all our fans for all the love & support & especially Charulata Patel ji. She's 87 and probably one of the most passionate & dedicated fans I've ever seen. Age is just a number, passion takes you leaps & bounds. With her blessings, on to the next one."

Patel blew a yellow vuvuzela like a child on every boundary scored. She also kept waving the tricolour. While talking to the media, Patel said that the Indian players are like her kids. "I love this Indian team and all the players are like my kids," she was quoted saying to a leading channel.

Patel, who is said to keep a close track of the team, wishes to be present when India lifts the World Cup at the iconic Lord's on July 14.

The Men in Blue road on a brilliant 104 from Rohit Sharma -- his fourth century in this edition of the showpiece event -- to post 314/9 in their 50 overs. Defending 314, in-form Shakib al Hasan was the only real threat for the Indian bowlers as the Bangladesh batsmen came out pretty subdued in their chase. And once Hardik Pandya sent back Shakib for 66 in the 34th over, it was advantage India.

Meanwhile, vice-captain Rohit Sharma surpassed David Warner to become the leading run-getter in the ongoing World Cup after scoring his fourth hundred of the tournament.
