Class 1 Girl Killed After Being Run Over By School Bus in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a school girl was killed after she fell off a school bus at Sahebnagar locality in Vanasthalipuram here in the city on Saturday morning.

According to the police, the victim was identified as Anjali, a Class I student of Prashanthi Vidya Niketan High School in Vanasthalipuram. Anjali boarded the school bus at her house in Sahebnagar. After travelling some distance, the driver applied brakes suddenly because of a speedbreaker. Anjali, who was sitting close to the bus door, reportedly fell and rolled out of the bus. Subsequently, she was crushed after she came under the rear wheel. The driver, who failed to notice this, proceeded further and was stopped by passersby.

Anjali, who suffered grievous injuries died while being shifted to the hospital.

The victim's parents accused the school management of negligence which cost the life of their daughter.

The private schools have been frequently violating norms by not deputing an aayaah or a security personnel to man the school bus to avoid such tragedies. The school parents rued that eventhough the schools collect hefty fee from the students, no proper care is being taken for the safety of kids. A case has been registered against the driver and investigation is on.
