Chief Minister in AIIMS ICU

Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has been admitted to the Intense Care Unit of New Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Wednesday. He is said to be requiring Oxygen Therapy, but is said to be stable.

 According to a statement from the AIIMS authorities, the 79-year-old chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir is conscious, alert and is taking food orally. He continues to be on antibiotics, anti-fungal drubs and supportive therapy. A team of experts is closely monitoring his condition.
Mufti was airlifted to Delhi on December 24 as his health condition worsened. He was suffering from fever and chest pain. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh visited him on Tuesday and wished him speedy recovery.
The PDP and the BJP are alliance partners in Jammu and Kashmir and run the government after the March 2014 elections.
