Chhattisgarh Tapes: Congress MLA Amit Jogi suspended

Congress MLA Amit Jogi was on Wednesday suspended for six years for his alleged role in fixing the Antagarh by-election in 2014.

The suspension comes after a show cause notice was issued against the Congress leader.

The decision to suspend former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajith Jogi’s son was taken at the Chhattisgarh Congress Committee meeting.

Chhattisgarh Congress chief Bhupesh Baghel said that the party has acted; now it is Bharatiya Janata Party’s turn to act against the “murder of democracy in Antagarh.

Fireworks went off outside the party office amid anti-Jogi slogans minutes before Jogi’s suspension from the party.
