Chandrababu splurges Rs 12 crore for special flights

AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has so far spent Rs 12 crores for globe-trotting. Thus he surpassed the record of all his predecessors.

Since assuming office as the CM of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu has undertaken five trips to Delhi, one each Singapore, Chhattisgarh trip and the present Japan trip. He used special flights only for these trips.
Many say that only Prime Minister, President and Deputy President generally use special flights for their official tours. But Chandrababu was never found to use normal flights to any of his trips.
It is said that that Chandrababu has been using special flights even for tours within the state.
Chandrababu hired Delhi based Club-1 special flight to his recent Singapore trip and the government has officially paid Rs 50 lakhs for the flight charges.
Chandrababu's travel expenditure of Rs 12 crore had raised many eyebrows.Besides the travel bill, there is additional expenditure for accommodation, local travel, daily allowance and others. He has been accompanied by at least 20 to 30 persons, including ministers and industrialists in foreign trips.
The TDP chief is under severe criticism for spending spree while the state is reeling under a financial crunch.
The government says the state is suffering from revenue deficit and has no money to build the new capital, but is unabashedly splurging on luxury flights. Chandrababu has issued orders to ministers and officials to adopt austerity, but he himself not observing this practice!
