Centre dashes Chandrababu's hopes on Hudhud relief

In a major blow to the TDP government, the Central government has released only Rs 400 crore to the Andhra Pradesh government towards Cyclone Hudhud relief.

The Centre is in the opinion that the Hudhud losses that Chandrababu claimed were exaggerated.
The centre assessed the losses could be to a tune of Rs 680 crore and asked the AP government officials to visit Delhi to discuss issues related to Hudhud on December 15.
Chandrababu in a letter to the Centre had demanded that the losses were of the order of Rs 21,640.63 crore and wanted at least Rs 9,278.41 crore be released.
The Centre's assessment seems to have come as bitter disappointment to the TDP leaders, especially in view of the fact that Chandrababu is NDA partner and claims to be close to Narendra Modi.
The TDP leaders have been claiming that Chandrababu with his contacts with the top leaders of BJP, he would bring adequate funds and projects for the development of Vizag. They have hinted several times that leaders like M Venkaiah Naidu and P Ashok GajapathiRaju will persuade Modi to come to the the rescue of the debt-ridden AP.
Chandrababu would obviously claim credit if the Centre announced the package that he demanded. Now, it remains to be seen how TDP leaders will react to this.
