Cell Phone Addiction: Father Chops Off Son’s Wrist

Hyderabad: In a blood-curdling incident, a father irked over his son for watching movies till late night on a cell phone has chopped off his son's wrist. The incident happened at Pahadishareef in the outskirts on Monday. The 19-year-old boy, Khaled Qureshi, has been shifted to Good Life’s Hospital and is undergoing treatment.

Khaled works as a cable operator and he recently purchased a smart phone and continued to watch movies till late night. An altercation broke out between father and son couple of times. Once, son Khaled angered by his father Qayyum Qureshi pestering over the phonem in a fit of rage bit latter's hand and left home.

Khaled later returned home late in the night and started watching movies on his phone once again. During the wee hours of Monday when everybody were slept off, Qureshi took a machete and cut of Khaled’s wrist while he was sleeping. Listening his screams, the family members and others rushed Khaled to a private hospital.

Pahadishareef police have filed a case and are probing the matter.
