Amaravati: The war of words between the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the BJP in Andhra Pradesh is intensifying with leaders of both the parties hurling accusations at each other.

At a press meet on Tuesday, Somu Veerraju accused the TDP of double standards. "The TDP leaders say that the Central government has not provided sufficient funds to the state and at the same time they ask for talks on special package to Andhra Pradesh. How can the TDP join hands with the Congress and level accusations against the BJP government?" Veerraju asked at the press meet.

On the issue of incomplete projects in the state, he said that most of the state projects were initiated during the tenure of former prime ministers PV Narasimha Rao and Atal Bihari Vajpayee which Chandrababu is claiming as his own. The chief minister had failed to complete any of the projects started by former chief minister NT Rama Rao, he pointed out.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP MLC Madhav said that the TDP leaders are making irresponsible comments about the Prime Minister. "They are behaving indecently in the Parliament and also posting degrading comments about the BJP on social media," he said.

Replying to Somu Veerraju's comments, TDP leader Buddha Venkanna said that the state BJP leader is behaving as if he does not belong to Andhra Pradesh. "For four years, the BJP-led NDA government has done little for Andhra Pradesh. However, Chandrababu is pursuing the state projects with patience. In this context, the comments by the state BJP leaders are uncalled for," Buddha Venkanna said while cautioning the BJP men against making irresponsible comments on the chief minister.
