Buy ticket in one state, get into train in another!

Here is one railway station where a mere walk on the platform can make you visit two states! Unbelievable? The Bhavani Mandi railway station is as unique as interesting. Though the town of Bhavani Mandi is in Rajasthan, its railway station straddles between both Rajasthan as well as Madhya Pradesh. The northern part of the platform is in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh and the southern part is in Bhavani Mandi. So what happens? · If you merely take a stroll in the platform, you cross two states.

· If one commits a crime and runs to the other end of the platform, the police have no power to catch one.

· You can book ticket in one state and get into the train in the other state.

There is another railway station between Maharashtra and Gujarat. Navapur railway station lies on the dividing line between the two states. Interestingly, the ticket booking counter is in Maharashtra and the passengers can get into the train either from Maharashtra or from Gujarat. Interesting! Isn’t it.
