Blow to AP Govt: HC lifts ban on capital area land registration

In a major blow to the Andhra Pradesh Government, the Hyderabad High Court on Thursday directed the Government to maintain status quo on the ban on the land registrations in Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali and Mangalagiri (VGTM) area. Interim orders have been issued to this effect.

Registrations of lands have been stopped in the VGTM areas following the directions from the Government. The government had banned registrations to prevent speculation and exorbitant rise in the land prices.
The court passed interim orders to the Government allowing registrations of lands in the area.
