Bellary girl gangraped in Kurnool

A 18-year-old girl who was on a pilgrimage to Kurnool was allegedly gangraped by three persons, reports said on Thursday.

According to reports, the victim was on her way back after visiting Devaragutta temple when the incident happened. It is learnt that the girl was accompanied by her friends during the trip. A team of a six people, comprising 3 girls and 3 boys, had gone to a tourist hotspot near Devaraguttakonda in Kurnool. When they were on their way back, the boys pushed two girls out of the car and sped away with the victim. The girl was then taken to an isolated place and raped. She was also allegedly attacked with stones, it is learnt. The girl was then thrown under a bridge.

The locals who found her in dire state shifted her to Aluru hospital. Her condition is said to be critical. It is learnt that the victim is in such bad shape that she's unable to speak.

The police has registered a case and launched a search to nab the culprits. For more on the story keep an eye on this column...
