Azad, state Congress leaders hold talks

Union Minister and AICC General Secretary in-charge of Congress Affairs in Andhra Pradesh Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday held consultations with party leaders in Hyderabad on various issues of importance.

APCC president Botsa Satyanarayana, party Rajya Sabha members K V P Ramachandra Rao, V Hanumantha Rao and several other MLAs and leaders met him and discussed the party affairs.
Though it was speculated that a meeting of Congress coordination committee in the state would be held during Azad's two-day visit to the state, it is unlikely, party sources said.
Besides Azad, the coordination committee comprises Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the PCC president, Deputy Chief Minister C Damodar Rajanarasimha, party Rajya Sabha member Chiranjeevi, senior Congress MP K S Rao, former PCC president D Srinivas and former minister Mohd Ali Shabbir.
Azad, who is Union Health Minister, visited the state-run Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences here.
The Centre would provide Rs 100 crore for upgradation of the hospital, he said. The minister would attend a meeting on the 'Bhoodan' movement at Bhoodan Pochampalli village in neighbouring Nalgonda district tomorrow. It was in the Bhoodan Pochampalli that freedom fighter Acharya Vinoba Bhave started the Bhoodan movement.
