Excise official held for accepting bribe

An Assistant Commissioner of Excise and Prohibition and a revenue official were today arrested by ACB officials in two separate cases of bribery from Khammam and Prakasam districts of Andhra Pradesh, officials said.

Gopala Krishna Murthy, who was also holding the additional charge as the superintendent of Exercise and Prohibition, was caught red-handed by ACB sleuths at his office in Khammam district while accepting Rs 25,000 from the complainant for returning an official favour, an ACB release said.
